Training

In addition to the informal training given to volunteers as a matter of course, we are now also able to offer a formal Cycle Mechanics qualification in partnership with Redbridge Institute of Adult Education

This is the City and Guilds Level 2  Cycle Mechanic Course (3902-28). It is the Industry Standard entry level as a mechanic and is equivalent to Cytech Level 2 (the other cycling industry entry level qualification).

Our course is probably the cheapest in the South East at £458 as the course is now part funded by City Hall

Our next delivery of this course is planned for 11 weeks from Tuesday 9th January 2018

We will be doing a taster day on Saturday 7th October 2017 which allows us to assess your ability to complete the course

The Modules covered in the level 2 course are:

  • Repair a cycle puncture (1 credit)
  • Remove and replace a rim brake assembly (2 credit)
  • Carry out a systematic cycle check (1 credit)
